Ronda Rousey took to Instagram to express her disillusionment with WWE following a loss to Shayna Baszler at WWE SummerSlam.
Rousey revealed that Shayna Baszler was the very reason she ventured into the realm of professional wrestling. Both of them come from a background in mixed martial arts. They also shared their journey into the WWE ring.
The MMA Rules Match at WWE SummerSlam between Baszler and Rousey ended in Rousey being defeated. This match signaled a potential shift in both women’s careers. Ahead of the event, wrestling insider Dave Meltzer revealed that Rousey had set a definitive “hard out” date for her tenure with WWE, adding an air of finality to her recent loss.

Rousey’s began her WWE journey in 2014. She made memorable appearances in the ring. WrestleMania 34 established her as a vital member of the WWE roster. She won many titles over the years including the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship twice and the RAW Women’s Championship once. Partnering with Baszler, she captured the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship in May 2023.
Will Rousey depart from WWE, we do not know. But there is going to be a shift in the WWE landscape, that’s for sure.
